How To Boost Your Traffic Via Social Media?

Every online business has one ultimate goal – to reach the right audience. These days the competition is fierce simply because the number of websites continues to grow. Moreover, search engine optimization (SEO) depends on more factors than ever before, due to the fact that Google and other search engines focus their ranking factors on user experience. And while in the past it was enough just to stick your website with keywords, today this tactics won’t do the trick. You can cheat, but you cannot force users to like your website. Period.

How to reach a bigger audience?

In order to boost your traffic, you have to promote your content to as many people as possible. Luckily, there are some simple and effective tricks, which you can deploy.

Make sure you have a subscription button. If you think it’s annoying, it’s not. In fact, it is quite the opposite because only visitors that enjoy your content will subscribe for your notifications. Every time you publish a new blog post or add a new product to your online store, your regular followers will receive the latest news right in their inbox. It gets annoying only if you send emails more than once a week, so be careful after all. Put simply, you can generate regular traffic via subscriptions. The more people visit your website, the more likely it is for Google to rank it higher.

Social media is your best friend

If you still don’t have accounts on social media channels (Facebook, Pinterest, LinkedIn, Twitter, etc.), shame on you. You had better go social right now. Social media can significantly boost your traffic, so why miss the opportunity? Some businesses even start from social media before launching their own websites and this should be enough to make you think about it.

However, let me tell you something. Your main task is to create an engaging and captivating post. Otherwise, users will just skip your publication. You really have to grab their attention and this is harder than you can imagine. I mean, social media is full of funny golden retrievers, fail compilations, and celebrities. You have to outperform them and make users click on your post.

Posts that include media (an image or video) are more likely to attract someone than plain text. Having said that, you should carefully craft your headlines as well. Your title should be both interesting and informative. If you can make it in 5 to 7 words, then you are my hero. Additionally, it is always a good idea to add 2-3 sentences to your post that give some general idea what your publication is about. If you are not sure what to write just copy/paste them from your article.

When sharing a product on social media give some basic info, while keeping the details in the product description on your online store. It is crucial to give your customers as much information about the product in question as possible. After all, they would like to know what they are paying for.

Being active on social media is a guarantee that your brand will always be in the newsfeed. This, in turn, will make you recognizable and people will always come up with the name of your business when in need of the products or services you offer. Nevertheless, overdoing social media posting will harm you. Nobody likes annoying Facebook pages, anyway.

Another benefit of using social media is their ability to indirectly influence traffic. They bring direct traffic when somebody clicks on your post and enters your site. Indirect traffic comes from search engines queues. When an ad grabs my attention on Facebook I always do some Google research on it and I usually end up on its website. This is how paid ads on social media convert impressions into organic traffic.
